High Flow Rotalock Valves

Introduction

Rotalock valves are widely used through out the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry as a convenient removable connection point and service valve typically fitted to compressors and pressure vessels. The Rotalock connection consists of male and female components that when joined compress a sacrificial Teflon washer. By compressing a Teflon washer a seal is created that can maintain its integrity with large changes in temperature and constant vibration.

Heldon has developed a new range of Rotalock Valves, Salt spray testing was performed in conjunction with a standard nickel plated rotalock valve, commonly used within the refrigeration industry. This displays the distinct benefits of the Zinc Blue Passivated coating.

Standard Nickel plated Rotalock valve showed obvious signs of rust after 150 hours of salt spray testing. While the New Heldon Rotalock valve with Zinc & Blue Passivate coating showed no obvious signs of rust, even after 300 hours of salt spray testing.

Additionally they feature a polished steel spindle with solid Teflon seal arrangement leading to an increased service life and less torque required when closing. The spindle is now recessed which allows for an uninterrupted flow through the valve, during flow testing as compared with traditional rotalock valves, Heldon valves were up to 50% more efficient. Seat surfaces are copper leading to a superior seal and making Heldon Rotalock valves suitable for all fluorinated refrigerants and oils.

Available in a range of styles and sizes all valves have a ¼ msae access port that in most cases is situated on the top of the valve, Heldon valves have two ports, one on each side with schrader core access, giving total freedom to the end user. All valves and sockets are supplied complete with a Teflon rotalock seal.
